Dr Jessica Stroja is dual-qualified in heritage and Public Relations and has full accreditation in both areas. She has worked across multiple areas of history, heritage and museums, including the tertiary, community and not-for-profit sectors. She has won awards for her contribution to knowledge, and for the significance and excellence of her research. Jessica has received multiple research grants including research fellowships, and is also committed to mentoring new and emerging heritage specialists as they begin their own heritage journeys. She has a broad portfolio of heritage work and publications, with vast experience in project management in research and heritage. Jessica has authored many publications including her first book, which was released in June 2022.
Jessica believes in helping the community understand the past as a way to improve wellbeing and produce positive outcomes for the future. Jessica’s research and practice are focussed on conflict, migration and heritage, including community engagement with museums and heritage sites. She maintains a strong interest in museums, local history and their relevance within the surrounding landscape. She enjoys working with her team and clients to help them navigate the nuances of heritage requirements across complex projects that require research, Exemption Certificates, Development Applications, Native Title and Duty of Care assessments, Cultural Heritage Risk Assessments, unexpected heritage finds and Notifications of Discovery. Her experience working with multidisciplinary teams means she is well-placed to support you with your unique project needs.
